Q Switched ND Yag Laser Treatment in Pune

What is Q Switched ND Yag Laser Treatment

Laser stands for ‘light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation’. Dermatologists use Q switch laser for various procedures. Lasers work by emitting high-intensity light with a single wavelength(with one colour)and unidirectional which target a particular tissue in the skin(called as chromophore).

The energy in the waves is absorbed by the chromophore in the skin and then destroys  it. In case of  Q switch Nd YAG  laser, the laser beam is absorbed by unwanted  melanin pigment inside the skin cells and melanocytes in controlled manner which breaks into micro fragments and then drained from the skin  by lymphatics and thereby reducing it slowly.

FAQ's

This laser is used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including:

  • Hyperpigmentation (melasma, freckles, age spots)

  • Tattoo removal

  • Skin brightening & rejuvenation

  • Sun damage

  • Dull or uneven skin tone

The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser emits ultra-short, high-energy pulses that target pigment in the skin or ink particles in tattoos, breaking them down so the body can naturally eliminate them. It also stimulates collagen production for rejuvenated skin.

Most clients describe the sensation as a mild snapping or tingling feeling. Discomfort is minimal and often compared to the snap of a rubber band. A cooling device or numbing cream can be used to enhance comfort.

The number of sessions depends on your concern:

  • Pigmentation: 3–6 sessions

  • Tattoo removal: 6–10+ sessions (depending on ink color and depth)

  • Skin rejuvenation: 4–6 sessions

Treatments are typically spaced 2–4 weeks apart.

Minimal to none. You might experience mild redness or swelling immediately after the treatment, which usually subsides within a few hours to a day.
